Where Inside Do We Meet from Tim Blue on Vimeo.
Color Test was inspired by the works of Mary Ellen Bute www.arsenal-berlin.de/en/distribution/news-archive/.../may.html
The joy and play I felt when watching her movies I felt was mostly lacking in the history of Experimental Cinema, and I wanted to make this tribute to her. The sound was made by myself and A.L. Dentel. Dentel was one of the first composer/musicians i ever played with and at the time the freedom and fun we had in making music was felt years later in the films of Mary Ellen Bute. It is a pice for two pianos, walkie talkies and hand held recorders.
Where Inside was made by filming very specific colors in a sunny, indoor location. Knowing i was going to completely abstract the image, I used a combination of hand held and very stable shots to create a tension.
The music is from a composition by my friend and teacher Cheryl E. Leonard www.allwaysnorth.com/
Instruments in Trees.
From as far as I can remember til now I have had a fascination with examining cloth very close up. the color and texture of the fabric creates a feeling very similar to drug use or sex, and this video is an attempt to show this 'high'
